Biography

I am an Assistant Professor of Educational Technology and Design in the Department of Curriculum Studies at the University of Saskatchewan. My research examines how artificial intelligence is reshaping teaching, learning, assessment, and educational decision-making. I am particularly interested in how generative AI can support student inquiry, formative feedback, creativity, and personalized learning while preserving learner agency, academic integrity, and professional judgment. Drawing on research in learning sciences, instructional design, and educational technology, my work explores how AI-supported learning environments can be designed in ways that are pedagogically meaningful, inclusive, transparent, and ethically responsible.

My current research focuses on the use of generative AI in higher education, the development of AI literacy among students and educators, and the redesign of assessment in AI-rich learning environments. I also study how teachers develop the knowledge and confidence needed to integrate AI into their practice, how institutions formulate responsible AI policies, and how learning analytics can be used to support student success without compromising privacy or fairness. Through research, teaching, and collaboration with educational partners, I aim to develop practical frameworks and resources that help universities adopt artificial intelligence in ways that strengthen human learning rather than replace it.
